Leader Training
Through our talented commissioner and other staff
Cub World is proud to offer the following Leader training
opportunities to enhance pack program and keep leaders informed of
any BSA program changes.
TrainingPrograms
Youth Protection Guidelines: This course can also be completed online (You must be a
registered and will need your
membership number to print the certificate) before camp. If
you need a signed car, please bring the printed certificate to camp,
as proof and a card will be issued to you. This can be
completed online by going to www.bsa-gnyc.org.
New Leader Essentials:
New Leader essentials is an introductory session that highlights the
values, aims, history, funding and methods of Scouting. It
addresses how these aims and methods are reached in an
age-appropriate style within Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity
Scouting and Venturing. This session will take approximately
90 minutes to complete.
BALOO Training:
BALOO training is the "Basic Adult Leader Outdoor
Orientation" course for Cub Scout Camping. It is an entry
level course to the outdoors and healt and safety in the Boy Scouts
of America. For a Pack to go camping one adult who is BALOO
trained must be listed on your tour permit and attend the camp
program. Any adult who is active with Pack activities is
encouraged to participate. This is a six-hour course that will
be offered at camp in two three hour sessions for Full Week Leaders.

No Trace:
This program
is especially important to all Scouts because it awakens the
campers’ awareness of his surroundings. It teaches the Scouts to
respect nature and keep the outdoors clean for future generations.
This program is available for Scouts and Leaders. Please sign up in
