Interested in Being On Staff?
Alpine Scout Camps is looking for dedicated individuals from who want to spend their summer providing a great program in the outdoors to scouts. If you are interested in working at Alpine Scout Camp please apply at STAFF APPLICATION and select Alpine as the camp where you would prefer to spend your summer. Please be sure to include current contact information for three references who are adults(over 18) with whom you are not related.
Counselor in Training
- Individuals under the age of 16 have the unique opportunity to spend the summer with the staff learning about the operation of camp and the areas that they may be interested in working in the following year.
- If you are interested in learning more about being a CIT
- Fill out the Camp Staff Application at https://www.bsa-gnyc.org/staffapp and select the camp where you would prefer to spend your summer.
- Provide contact information for three references who are adults(over 18) with whom you are not related.
- Talk to your parents about your interest in spending 8 weeks away from home (Staff Training, 6 weeks of camp, and tear down week)
- A camp staff leader from the camp you selected will contact you to set up an interview and discusss the program you will particiapte in for the summer if you are selected.
Hiring Process
Once you have filled out the online application above you will be contacted by a camp leader. They will ask you about your skills and the position you selected held interest to you and set a time for an interview.

Once your Camp Director has initiated the hiring process with the GNYC Camping Department, you will receive an email with information about the online hiring system and you can create your login. Most of the forms can be filled in by typing them out directly on your phone or computer, and then submitting the completed version. Documents can be photographed or scanned and uploaded as required. Once all required forms are completed and your background check has come back with no results your letter of agreement will be accepted. All Camp Staff Employees must have the following trainings. Most can be completed online and verification can be uploaded into the online hiring system. These should be completed before coming to camp and must be valid until after the last date of employment.

CPR & First Aid Training Information |
|
If you are the camp’s backup medical officer, an Aquatics Staff member, or the director in one of the following departments, this important information is for you (Aquatics, Climbing, Scout Skills.) To attend a course provided, you must register online at https://www.bsa-gnyc.org/calendar and select camp staff member as your form of payment. Training may be completed through an outside organization if you can provide and acceptable certification but only those provided by GNYC will costs be covered. Trainings must be completed prior to camp this summer or you may not be qualified to serve in the agreed to position. |
National Camping School |

For those senior staff members attending the National Camping School this summer, you must follow this link to complete the application and return it to the Camp Director ASAP. To sign up for NCS, if you are unsure as to whether you are required to attend NCS or have questions about NCS, contact your Camp Director. |

Several Scholarship Opportunities are available to Camp Staff Members at Alpine. To learn more about these opportunities contact your Camp Director.
